Interview with Camille

10.07.2017

How long have you been in Chengdu/China and how long do you plan to stay?

I was in Chengdu/China for one term/semester.

Why did you choose to come to Chengdu/Sichuan and what do you like most about this part of China?

I applied to Beijing Teach. They introduced me to the opportunity in Chengdu. I thought this was balanced and did some research. The giant pandas, the ancient architecture, and Mandarin studies made me feel like it was definitely worthwhile to teach English in Sichuan.

Where do you teach/have been teaching and what age groups? What are the good and bad sides of that age group?

I taught at a college with freshmen and sophomores ages 18-20. The good side was that they had previous English studies and planned to teach English as an occupation. They are the next generation of teachers.

What has been the most rewarding part of this experience and what will you do next?

The most rewarding part of the experience is that the students will show appreciation. They never cease to show impressive English skills. They are studious and work together.
